Quake Lake {Natural Attraction}

On August 17, 1959, near midnight, an earthquake near the Madison River triggered a massive landslide. The slide moved at 100 mph and in less than 1 minute, over 80 million tons of rock crashed into the narrow canyon, blocking the Madison River and forming Earthquake Lake. About 30 miles out of West Yellowstone.

Howard Springs Wayside Area {Natural Attraction}

This one may seem a little silly, but there is a little rest stop on the side of the road on Highway 20 about 15 minutes out of West Yellowstone. It features a spring fed water fountain that my father always called "The Fountain of Youth." I have been there at the same time as other groups many times and several of them also call it that. Am I saying the water has magical properties? Maybe not, but it is a fun tradition and a pretty cool rock drinking fountain, and it's not out of your way even a little if you are approaching West Yellowstone from the Idaho side.
